Dr. Blum, MD, FACS, is double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Board of Otolaryngology, one of the top boards certifying the specialty of Head and Neck Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He earned his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia (now Drexel University). He completed postgraduate training in General Surgery at Allentown (PA) Hospital (now Lehigh Valley Hospital), and his Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery) residency at the Washington (D.C.) Hospital Center.
Dr. Blum, MD, FACS, also served as chief of Otolaryngology at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA. While there, he was an associate clinical instructor at UC Davis Medical Center. He has privately practiced Facial Plastic Surgery in Carmichael, CA for 30 years.
He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. He is also medical director of the Outpatient Surgery Center of the North Area.
Dr. Blum, MD, FACS, is married with children and grandchildren. An avid skier and former National Ski Patrol member, he golfs, kayaks, plays tennis and loves the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle.
